The Merach E09 Auto Electromagnetic Elliptical Machine is a midsize piece of equipment that is made of metal and ABS/Plastic. It features large-size foot pedals, dual handles one pair with biometric measurements, and the other pair that moves. There is an LED display in the middle of the handles that allows you to make selections and change settings. Above the display, there is a holder with an elastic band that allows you to secure a phone or a tablet. The machine has wheels and can easily be moved. The power port is on the bottom back of the machine.
Assembly
The Merach E09 Auto Electromagnetic Elliptical Machine arrives partially assembled, and adding the pieces to make it ready is relatively easy. All of the tools, bolts, washers, and screws that are needed are packaged together as one. The following video chronicles my setup experience.
Performance
The Merach E09 Auto Electromagnetic Elliptical Machine is easy to use and performs smoothly and effectively as it should. Its settings provide adequate resistance for a good workout. It features Bluetooth connectivity that allows you to use the Merach and Kinomap apps albeit the latter requires payment for most of its functionality. The Merach app provides several types of training measurement options and a few interactive classes that seem to lack the presentation and “polish” that I have become accustomed to when using my other equipment like my Aviron Rowing machine or my Freebeat bike.

Overall, the Merach E09 Auto Electromagnetic Elliptical Machine is a good machine for a home gym and provides me with a good workout for what I need. As mentioned in this review, the Merach app is glitchy and the content especially the interactive content leaves much to be desired. Quite honestly, the interactive presentations kept freezing and when I checked my phone, my network speed at the time was 320MBPS. The movement of the machine is smooth and fluid but the highest resistance level of 16 is not enough even for a novice for me. Still, based on its portability, build quality, the offerings and functionality of the free lifetime membership app, and the biometric readings capability, IMHO it is a good value at this price point.

- The clip that stretches to hold a phone or tablet is held in place by an elastic band which will likely stretch after several uses. This should be a spring-loaded system. I placed my tablet in the holder in a landscape position because I did not trust stretching the clip that much.
Final thoughts
The Merach Elliptical Training Machine is a nice exercise machine that is easy to assemble, and it fits well in my home gym. It is not too big nor is it too small. It gives me a good workout, but the resistance levels are limited so I have to be creative with my routines as I advance and need a more intense workout. The Merach app is ok especially because it is free and because it offers enough data for good recordkeeping and metrics. However, the interactive training is very limited and the quality of the presentation and the stability of the app leave much to be desired. Still, I do this k that it is worth the cost and the purchase.
