Airplay 2 support comes to Bose speakers

NEWS – Wireless speakers are all the rage these days. Bluetooth is probably the most popular wireless audio standard but there are better options. Bose has added Airplay 2 capabilities to their SoundTouch and Lifestyle speakers in their most recent firmware update, making it possible to stream high quality audio from Mac and iOS devices.

Airplay 2 enables multi-room streaming with other Airplay 2 compatible speakers, including Apple’s HomePod and speakers from Sonos, Bowers & Wilkins and more.

Firmware update 24.0.7 enables Airplay 2 support on the following Bose models:

  • SoundTouch 10
  • SoundTouch 20 Series III
  • SoundTouch 30 Series III
  • Bose SoundTouch SA-5 Amplifier
  • Bose Wave SoundTouch Music System IV
  • SoundTouch 300 soundbar
  • Lifestyle 550 home entertainment system
  • Lifestyle 600 home entertainment system
  • Lifestyle 650 home entertainment system

This firmware update is being rolled out in phases, starting Tuesday, February 18, with all owners receiving the update no later than Tuesday, February 25. Find out more at bose.com
